With an ever-increasing range of more than 30 exclusive brands and over 28 000 product lines, Vermont Sales recognised that it was imperative to ensure that each brand is represented and managed by appointed brand managers. This will ensure that all the products within the respective brand range will grow organically by building strong levels of service, product training and brand development, to make certain that all product lines that fall within their scope resonate with current and potential customers needs and demands.
To do so, the appointed brand managers will continuously monitor marketing trends, keeping a close eye on competitive products in the marketplace to regularly meet not only with their valued distribution channels and clients, but also their senior management as well as to engage and oversee a team of new junior marketers that evolve with Vermont’s growth plans.
These brand managers serve as the contact point for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives, strategies and activities which will include engaging with consumers, marketing campaigns corporate events and responsibility programmes as well as selective sponsorships that will drive market growth.
The above points are all aspects of what a brand manager must accomplish in their daily activities, therefore defining the core principles of a brand manager. Shawn van Zyl has recently been appointed brand manager for the GAV brand at Vermont Sales.
“As a brand manager and ambassador of our GAV range our ultimate goal, as with all our brands, is to ensure that our market and clients are educated through our partners and powered by our sales team, regular trade events and brand integration where our customers are brought up to speed with our latest product offerings, leading developments and product selection. Our objectives are to ensure that the brands are presented neatly to our end-user markets through instore branding, displays which is supported by our team of sales members guided by the brand ambassador.
“My objectives are to increase brand awareness by ensuring uniform and repeatable display units. I’m looking to increase sales by implementing strategies that will effectively market the products in our distribution channels,” concluded Shawn.
