In the ultra-competitive world of car refinish sales it’s a big plus point to have been established for 40 years and still be in a great state of business health. For Sanjeev Mohanlal, the prospects for success at the Isipingo Rail shop remain good. They have bucked market trends and now have four outlets now trading in the coastal areas of KZN.

Sanjeev is very proud that they are a multiple brand supplier and able to offer a product range to body shops, through to DIY customers, is proving to be very successful. Auto Colour Matching Centre offer a full range of Plascon products such as the Master Mix Acryline, DeBeer range, ProSpray and the premium Standox range. “We are capable of being competitive on every level for our customers who want to purchase paint,” says Sanjeev.

Mac Mohanlal was the company founder and is still working at the head office operation by diversifying into industrial and decorative paints. The company has kept pace with local area demands as well.

Standox is offered to A and B multi-approved body shops. Standox offer a range of solvent and water based (Standoblue) products for those upmarket shops that need to keep approvals on customer vehicles during repair. The Standox service levels are backed up by Axalta’s technical service guru, Shaun Peterson, who delivers a comprehensive and efficient customer care service.

The DeBeers product range is aimed at the C shops with limited manufacturer approvals as well and is also a very good quality product. “It is all about getting your body shop and DIY customers to take the right steps forward with efficiency and most importantly, a philosophy of doing the job right first time by avoiding costly and time wasting re-do’s,” says Sanjeev.

Other speciality products on offer are a full range of Sata and DeVilbiss spray equipment along with an extensive range of abrasives and polishing systems. Sanjeev says more of their clients are becoming extremely price conscious, so they have to develop an all-in-one shop approach by giving them the brands they prefer with the performance they need at an affordable price.

They also have a new paint mixing ProSpray system that is answering these new market needs in the Isipingo area. ProSpray isa brand that is being sub-distributed to retail paint stores. This gives customers a unique opportunity of experiencing the best in colour matching with a full range of colour documentation. The option of a spectrophotometer is a brilliant addition that saves time when searching for colours without codes or colour names. They also have the option of offering a colour in three solid systems from a normal solid to medium to high solid.

As a one-stop-shop they also offer special masking lines for detailing, a range of sealants, number plates as well as sign graphics to keep their local customer base happy.

It’s a full-time job to carry the lines at great value prices to ensure their success. By seeking new opportunities for distribution they are now well set up in the local market place for body shop demands and needs.
